SolidWorks:Heard! - Episode 265 - March Tech News

March Tech News:
This podcast covers the SolidWorks tech news that broke since SolidWorks World Conference 2010. This seems to always be a slow time for tech news since most announcements have been launched at the event.  Topics covered:

- Launch of the Certified SolidWorks Expert exam (CSWE)

- "SolidWorks V6" response post from Austin O'Malley, CTO

- March Time Saves YouTube series

- SWUGN Technical Summits return

- SolidWorks World Proceedings site launches

- Tech Alerts & Top Solutions

- 3 Dudes Gone 3D season available (small clip)

It seems that right before SolidWorks World and the month after tends to yield much less tech news than other times in the year.  It has been almost 3 months since I have done a tech news show, mainly since most of the announcements were kept quiet or already told at SolidWorks World.  There were a number of things that have piled up, however, over the past few months that I thought there was finally enough to do a show on.

The highlights are really that SWUGN is bringing back the Technical Summits, which is a fantastic opportunity for people to get a smaller scale, 2-day mini SWWC in their backyards!  Another nice feature is seeing SolidWorks committing to building content to help users sharpen their skills with the activity on their YouTube channel picking up.  I hope to see some activity on the LABS site since that has been rather static for the past few months.  In the mean time, stay tuned for more application specific tutorials to come in future shows!  ~Lou
